Q: What is Tizen?

Tizen, is an Open Sourced standards-based software platform. It is supported by leading mobile operators, device manufacturers, and silicon suppliers. Which includes multiple device categories such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, in-vehicle infotainment devices, and smart TVs. Tizen offers an innovative operating system, applications, and a user experience that consumers can take from device to device.

Q: What is Tizen Developer Conference about?

Tizen Developer Conference is a technical conference for Tizen developers, App developers, ISVs, Platform designers, Operators, OEMs, Hardware vendors, Software vendors, Open source enthusiasts, and anyone engaged in Tizen. Tizen development has been primarily focused on mobile and in-vehicle infotainment the past few years. Last year, we focused on building our ecosystem and on application development for mobile and IVI.

The theme of this year’s Tizen Developer Conference is “Tizen, The Best Way to Connect Everything.”  In addition to  focus on Tizen platform and application development, Tizen Developer Conference 2015 Shenzhen will focus on the role of Tizen in the Internet of Things, and how Tizen can help developers maximize the potential of IoT.

Q: I write apps. Should I come to Tizen Developer Conference?

Yes!  We want you to come and learn how you can make money in the new app stores and ecosystems that Tizen is creating.  Conference sessions will cover app development for multiple platforms, including mobile, wearables, and TV.  Sessions will range from basic topics like how to write and submit your first app to Tizen Store to advanced performance tuning.

This is the best place in the world to learn how to make money with Tizen.

Q: I create devices and am looking for an operating system.  Should I come to Tizen Developer Conference?

Yes!  Tizen is an Open Source Linux-based operating system, designed to be adapted to all sorts of devices.  It is specifically optimized for low energy, high performance devices.  We encourage anyone building devices to check it out and use it.

Tizen Developer Conference is the largest gathering of Tizen platform developers in the world, and many are already working on the same things as you as they extend Tizen to new devices.  This is a great place to learn what has been done so far, learn what it takes to port Tizen to new devices, and talk with architects about what is in the technical roadmap.

Q: Where is the event located?

A: The event will be held at the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel

Q: Is there a registration deadline?

A: There is no registration deadline, but we encourage everyone to register early and take advantage of the early bird rates. Also, receive important updates regarding the event that will be sent via email to all attendees.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel. notify us via email at tdc2015@tizen.org. As long as your cancellation request is received by Monday, September 14 at 11:59pm (China Time) the latest, your fee will receive a full refund..

Q: Is this event open for anyone to attend?

A: Yes, this is open to all who are interested or engaged with Tizen.

Q: If I am unable to attend, may I transfer my registration to someone else?

A: If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another attendee in lieu of cancelling.

To substitute an attendee:
1) Return to the registration form
2) Click “View or Change Your Existing Registration”
3) Enter your email address and password
4) Edit your registration with the new attendee's information.
5) You will then be re-issued a receipt and/or a confirmation.

Q: How can I retrieve a copy of my receipt?

A: Your email confirmation has the following:
- A link "Review your registration record or make any changes."
- Next, under Documents, select Receipt. This gives you the option to either "Print Receipt" or "Email Receipt"

If you no longer have your confirmation email:
- Return to the registration form to access your registration
- Click on “View, Print, or Email Registration Record and Receipt”.

Q: How can I get my company to send me to the 2015 Tizen Developer Conference?

A: The education available at the conference will advance your knowledge without costing them much money. This is the best and most cost effective way to learn about Tizen through top notch speaking talents, innovative and abundant program content, and the opportunity to connect and network with peers.

Q: Where should I stay?

A: A block of rooms will be reserved for attendees at the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel for Tizen

Q: When do you recommend I arrive and depart?

A: If you are coming from out of Shenzhen, we recommend you plan to arrive by Wednesday 16th September so you don’t miss our any sessions that starts on the morning of Thursday 17th September. Sessions will end at approximately 5:30pm on Friday 18th September.

Q: . What can I expect in terms of the weather in Shenzhen and how should I plan for attire?

A:  Shenzhen in September would be cloudy with occasional showers. The highest average temperature would be 33 degree Celcius. While the lowest average temperature would be 24 degrees Celcius. Check accuweather.com  or  http://www.szmb.gov.cn/ for an up to date information. 。

Q: . Do you provide visa invitation letters for this event?

A: Absolutely! After you have registered for Tizen Developer Conference, please complete the Visa Request Form, and include all of the required information. Once we have received your request, we will email you a pdf copy of your visa invitation letter within 72hours.
