Q: What is Tizen?

Tizen is an open source, standards-based software platform supported by leading mobile operators, device manufacturers, and silicon suppliers for multiple device categories such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, in-vehicle infotainment devices, and smart TVs. Q: What is Tizen Developer Conference about?

Tizen Developer Conference is a technical conference for Tizen developers, App developers, ISVs, Platform designers, Operators, OEMs, Hardware vendors, Software vendors, Open source enthusiasts, and anyone engaged in Tizen. Tizen development has been primarily focused on mobile and in-vehicle infotainment the past few years. Last year, we focused on building our ecosystem and on application development for mobile and IVI. 

This year, we are excited to explore the new opportunities that Tizen is creating. Join us at this year's developer event as Tizen is expanding beyond Mobile and IVI into a plethora of new devices in this new era of the Internet of Things.

Q: Where is the event located?

A: The event will be located at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

Q: Is there a registration deadline?

A: There is not a registration deadline, but we encourage you to register early to take advantage of the early bird rates, and so that you do not miss important information that will be emailed to all attendees.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: If you must cancel for any reason please notify us via email. Refunds will only be issued for cancellations received by Friday, May 30 and may take up to 14 days to process. Please note that all refunds are subject to a 3% processing fee.

Q: Is this event open to anyone to attend?

A: Yes, this is open to all who are interested or engaged in Tizen.

Q: May I substitute someone else, if I am unable to attend?

A: If you are unable to attend, you can substitute another attendee in lieu of cancellation this event. To substitute an attendee, you may return to the registration form and click “View or Change Your Existing Registration”. Once you’ve entered your email address and password, you may edit your registration with the new attendee's information. Utilizing this feature will also allow you to re-issue yourself a receipt and/or confirmation should you need it.

Q: How can I retrieve a copy of my receipt?

A: A link will be on your confirmation email; in the email click on the section that reads "View Your Invoice". Next, under "Actions" you can select either: "Print Receipt" or "Email Receipt". If you do not have your confirmation email any longer, you can also access your registration details by returning to the registration form and clicking “View or Change Your Existing Registration”. Once you login and access your registration details, simply click on "Print Receipt" located under "Documents".

Q: How can I get my company to send me to the 2014 Tizen Developer Conference?

A: The education available at the conference will advance your knowledge without costing them much money. This is the best and most cost effective way to learn about Tizen through top notch speaking talent, innovative and abundant program content, and the opportunity to connect and network with peers.

Q: Where should I stay?

A: A block of rooms have been reserved at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square for Tizen attendees.

Q: When do you recommend I arrive and depart?

A: If you are coming from out of town, we recommend you plan to arrive by Sunday, June 1 so you don’t miss any of the sessions that start on Monday afternoon. Sessions will end at approximately 5:30pm on Wednesday, June 4.

Q: . What can I expect in terms of the weather in San Francisco and how should I plan for attire?

A: June in San Francisco can be chilly, with average high temperatures around 65 degrees and average lows around 52 degrees. Check out accuweather.com for the most up to date information.

Q: . Do you provide visa invitation letters for this event?

A: Absolutely! After you have registered for Tizen Developer Conference, please complete the Visa Request Form, and include all of the required information. Once we have received your request, we will email you a pdf copy of your visa invitation letter within 72 hours.
