Meet the Future of Tizen at Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024
The Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) offers the opportunity to highlight the progress and vision of the Tizen Platform, which continues to lead innovation and market transformation by delivering user-centric features and updates.
Tizen, widely used in TVs, monitors, and home appliances of Samsung, now integrates an optimized 2D and 3D unified graphics engine and supports AI features on devices like the BESPOKE AI Family Hub and smart home appliances.
Samsung plans to leverage its NPU (Neural Processing Unit) chips to optimize AI models for smarter and secure usage. It also introduced improved interoperability between Tizen and Galaxy devices, enabling features like on-device live translation and multi-control functionality across TVs, monitors, and smart devices.
For developers, a RISC-V-based Tizen OS is being developed and planned for release in 2026. Tizen continues to support tools like the latest Flutterframework and advanced debugging tools. Lightweight web engines were introduced.
